T
he term HODL (hold on for dear life) is often used in crypto circles, it refers to many people who hold crypto currencies and do nothing with it, as in they do not trade their currencies and do not sell when the market moves.

Introduction
I am myself a HODLER now, as I’m not a trader but see the benefit of just holding to currency. That’s not to say that I didn’t in the early years, I would often swap my coins for stable coins when the market moved, but I always seemed to transfer when the market hit the bottom and buy after it went up. So, after learning mistakes and having more time in the market, I soon realised that for me I was best to simply HODL my coins.
However, saying all that, I am very aware that coins rise and when they seem high, I will take profits, and reinvest when the market drops again, this may sound at odds with HODL but its just being sensible, make a profit where you can. But for me this is something I have not done to often, namely when coins have hit an all-time high.
Bitcoin
Bitcoin (BTC) is the number one coin to hold for me, it is the king and over time it has been in a class of its own, for continued steady growth without the huge uncertain volatility seen by other coins that have gone up millions of percentage to drop the next day by the same margin.
Bitcoin is the gold of the crypto universe. The reason it is classed as gold is because there will be a limited supply of it, only 21 million coins will be minted and with this it leads to supply and demand issues, the less supply, the higher the demand. And therefore Bitcoin is my No1 HODL, other coins may come along but for me there will be only one No 1 position and I will HODL Bitcoin, like I would hold onto a gold bar.

Ethereum
Ethereum (ETH) as the second largest coin by its market capital value, behind Bitcoin. Ethereum has grown consistently over the years, very much like Bitcoin, its had its ups and down but on the whole a consistent growth, again because of it natural position in the crypto market and long term visions. This coin is worth HODLing, I do not see it getting anywhere near to the current value of Bitcoin, but for steady growth you have to consider HOLDing this coin.

Cardano
Cardano (ADA) is another coin from the same start up founders as Ethereum, before they split, it offer similar attributes to Ethereum but promises more. Many class Cardano as the sleeping giant, but for me its not got going yet, and it seems to promise a lot but seems static at present. However, it is does wake up, its always good to have “skin in the game” and for this reason I will HODL an amount of Cardano.

Terra Luna
Terra Luna (LUNA) works hand in hand with Terra UST a stablecoin, but offers great potential for its real world uses. It has clear system to maintains the UST stablecoin, and the natural long-term vision for this product means its one to consider. If their real-world vision for an every useable crypto to rival Fiat currency comes to a fruition, this will be one of the great game chargers to the crypto world and one you just have to HODL.

Avalanche
Avalanche (AZAX) is similar again to Ethereum and Cardona and according to news articles it is the fastest smart contracts on the blockchain that prioritizes scalability and transaction processing speed. A user of AZAX earns rewards by staking on the network, which is unlike its competitors because its hardware requirements are minimal for staking.
As Avalanche is similar to Ethereum and Cardona, I have to edge my bets and HODL these coins as it long term position seems set and its only at the start of its journey.

Conclusion
Hopefully you have an insight to my thoughts on what to HODL and the potential gains by doing nothing, these Crypto currencies in my opinion have great long term goals that I like and also the stability of them with steady consistent growth over time that will pay dividends in the future, I do not think I will see the huge jumps as you see with some crypto currencies, I’m thinking Shiba, but I don’t have the risk of a total loss. Just sensible long-term planning.
