ack in December 2021, the developers of DeFi Kingdoms announced plans for a new realm: DeFi Kingdoms: Crystalvale. At the time existing players were informed that they would be rewarded in a variety ways through the process of airdrops.

Introduction to DeFi Kingdoms
Launched in August 2021, DeFi Kingdoms has rapidly grown to a project with a market cap over $550m. This play to earn game is a MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role-playing game build on top of a DeFi protocol.
Much of DeFi Kingdoms is based around Hero NFTs – these are your characters that you can promote and earn the in-game currency crystals. $JEWEL can be earned by going on quests with heroes.
DeFi Kingdoms operates on the Harmony One ($ONE) blockchain.
What is Crystalvale?
Building on the success of DeFi Kingdoms, Crystalvale will be set in a brand new realm. All of the existing features of DeFi Kingdoms will be natively available – heroes will be able to go on quests and earn rewards.
Crystalvale will offer a limited series of generation zero NFTs with new genes and classes together with unique resources, buildings, quests, equipment and pets.
This next release of DeFi Kingdoms will run on the Avalanche blockchain. It is hoped that the reliability issues encountered on the Harmony One blockchain will be less of the issue as Crystalvale moves to Avalanche.
What is an airdrop?
Airdrops have become commonplace in the cryptocurrency world as a means of rewarding loyal holders of a particular digital asset. At a given moment in time (normally initially kept a secret), a snapshot is taken of all the wallets and the quantity of tokens that they hold. The airdrop deposits a new token to some (or all) of the wallets that held the primary asset.
Historical DeFi Kingdoms airdrops
The following are past DeFi Kingdoms airdrops:
- JEWEL given to early Discord participants in August 2021
- 51 generation zero heroes to players staking 5,000 xJEWEL at the bank in September 2021
- A secret airdrop of potions, eggs and gold for XJEWEL holders in September 2021
- Airdrops of tears for the first individuals to buy or sell heroes at the beta tavern in October 2021
- 25 plots of land given to players staking 5,000 xJEWEL in the bank during October and November 2021
- Amulets given to holders of xJEWEL in December 2021 and January 2022
- Atonement crystals given to users of the Meditation Circle in December 2021
Current airdrop snapshots
At the time of writing, we are still waiting for the Crystalvale launch date. However, we do know what airdrop gifts are scheduled:
Secret snapshots – February 1st to 21st February 2022 – 7 secret snapshots taken every few days with holders of xJEWEL rewarded with items and equipment.
Land airdrop – January 20th to 14th February 2022 – 5 plots of lands will be raffled.
Hero summoning snapshots – January 21st to 11th February 2022 – A raffle in which players who summon heroes will be rewarded with 100 Crystal and 100 $JEWEL.
10 Crystalvale generation zero heroes will be raffled from a 14th February 2022 snapshot.
Hero levelling snapshots from 14th February 2022 – this will award a variety of heroes and crystalvale.
