ryptocurrency has been trending lately, so the credit-focused firm decided to commit more resources towards it.
On Wednesday, GoldenTree Asset Management said in a SushiSwap forum announcement that it had invested around $5.2 million in the SushiSwap governance token.
The company announced that with its new crypto-focused GoldenChain Asset Management arm, it is "psyched to be more active in all things Sushi," as it has been following the start-up for a while now. The Asset Management firm has approximately $47 million in assets under management.
When Sushi was first created, it copied Uniswap but also included liquidity mining and governance features. Although its goal was to improve on Uniswap, recent events show that it may be falling behind competitors.
Still, GoldenTree said in its forum post that "SushiSwap has incredible potential."
