UK's Leader Wants to Prioritize Crypto
A
lthough a recent leadership shuffle has occurred, the U.K. still plans on becoming an influential figure in cryptocurrency and industry advocates are elated.
Despite recent changes in leadership, the U.K. government is committed to Rishi Sunak's plans to make the country an international center for cryptocurrency, as stated last week by Richard Fuller, the new economic secretary to the Treasury, at Westminster's first-ever crypto debate.
The blockchain community in the U.K. were disappointed when Sunak resigned from his position because they were counting on him to help progress the crypto industry which has become stagnant.
Kwasi Kwarteng, Truss' pick for finance minister, has yet to say anything about crypto. However, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy which he was previously in charge of seemed to support the development of blockchain technology.
